Our Aims & Objectives

The peaceful surroundings with superb views over the downs, friendly staff and delicious home cooked food help to make Lordington Park a warm and comfortable home from home experience.
Our aims and objectives sit around four key principles, in order for our residents to get the most out of their stay at Lordington Park.

Maintain Independence

At Lordington Park our aim is to enhance life, not restrict it, we work hard to maintain independence within the care environment.
Residents retain control of their lives and are encouraged and helped to make choices about the way they live; including sometimes taking risks associated with such choice.

High Standard of Care

At Lordington Park we believe that when caring for our residents, a holistic approach is essential. Each resident assists in devising an exclusive plan of care which aims towards promoting health and independence and encouraging full potential to be reached.

Individual Needs, Preferences and Beliefs

We understand every resident’s needs, beliefs and preferences are different, and Lordington Park staff will treat residents on an individual basis ensuring the standard of service provided meets the levels our residents come to expect; this includes respecting the residents’ rights to privacy and dignity resulting in a happy place to live.
When decisions need to be made regarding changes in care, the resident and relatives are involved in the decision making process. Residents are able to choose their own doctor, dentist chiropodist, etc.

All residents within Lordington Park are treated with the upmost respect. This includes allowing residents to choose how they wish to be addressed. Whilst first names are often used between residents and staff, how a resident chooses to be addressed is up to their individual wishes.
Social events are organised from time to time in the drawing room. If and when these take place residents will be encouraged to participate; however, their choice in this will be respected.

Our 18 rooms are tastefully decorated with modern conveniences to aid independent living & mobility. En-suite facilities & a 24 hour emergency call system are in every room for country living with safety built in.

Our Staff

At Lordington Park we appreciate it can be the small things that go a long way in making a difference to a resident’s stay from offering a friendly smile to a listening ear. All the staff at Lordington Park work hard to ensure the standard of service provided across the board meets the levels our residents come to expect, resulting in a happy place to live.

Lordington Park employs a dedicated and caring staff of 20 care workers who provide 24-hour care to our residents.

Our highly talented chefs regularly rotate the menu ensuring Lordington Park offer residents a well-balanced diet, and our chefs are happy to cook for any specific dietary requirements.

We firmly believe in the importance of selecting the right staff to ensure the high standards are maintained. In addition to the 20 care workers, Lordington Park also employs domestic staff, a grounds man and two gardeners.

Training & Care

All staff undergo a training programme that meets CQC requirements. At Lordington Park we also encourage continuous development amongst staff. Above and beyond formal training our staffs are taught best practice techniques; those small details and attention to detail, learned and perfected over the years; make a huge difference to day-to-day care. The majority of staff have been at Lordington Park for many years, this sense of continuity and familiarity is something very special – and not something gained from just training.

Mrs Smith is a trained Registered General Nurse and is responsible for the daily organisation and management of the home. Our residents’ health and wellbeing are our main priorities and as such we regularly liaise with the doctor and community nurses.

In addition the dentist and alternative therapists visit the home when requested by a resident whilst the hairdresser visits weekly and a chiropodist every six weeks.
